Thursday 17th

Thursday morning was free time, so being too hot to go outside I decided to skip breakfast and sleep in till lunch. The afternoon consisted of a two hour poster session, and then after dinner it was time for the costume party..

Poster Session

This is one of Gjert's pictures, which is how I managed to be in it...

Costume Party

The Thursday evening entertainment was the Costume Party, an ICPS tradition that was started last year in Coimbra.

The party officially started at 21:00, but it was 22:30 before the more adventurous costumes started to turn up.

And Jim had caused a stir with his alter ego..

Jim (aka Mary Quantum) with a classical looking Misha at 22:24.

It wasn't quite the Korova milk bar, but I had found a bowler hat and decided to go with a Clockwork Orange theme. imgp3597.jpg

imgp3600.jpg Laura was the next of the UK participants to arrive..

With a slightly Spannish looking droog at 23:21.. imgp3601.jpg

And finally with a Dutch farm girl at 23:30.. imgp3603.jpg

imgp3604.jpg At just before 1:00am Jim had found a feline friend in the form of Doug Needham from Sheffield.

Doug had managed to jury rig a remarkable last minute effort using a leapard skin rug that he had found in Bucharest earlier in the day.. imgp3605.jpg
