Friday 18th
Lectures and the Football Tournement

Taimoor Khan giving a talk on Pulsars in the upstairs sauna just before
lunch.

|
Downstairs in the larger (and cooler) main lecture room, Mustafa giving
a talk entitled Fuel Cell Technology as an Alternative Energy
Technology at 16:30.

A picture of the audience during Mustafa's talk.
These were pictures taken by the organizers, so I can be seen
in a black t-shirt in the third row.

The evening entertainment that had been organized for Friday was a football
tournement, however being of the Robert Oppenheimer school of
thought on team sports I didn't participate and didn't last long as a
spectator.
Consequently I didn't get any pictures of the event - so here is one taken
by one of the organizers.

Saturday 19th
Closing Ceremony and Executive Committee Meeting
|
Saturday morning we had the closing ceremony, as even though we still another
day and a half of the conference, this was expected to be the last time we
would be assembled as a group in the lecture room. However I havn't been
able to find a picture of the event.
The afternoon was allocated for the IAPS General Meeting, which amoungst
other things was to select the hosts for the 2008 ICPS, and also the
next president elect.
Here the three contenders for the presidential postition are giving
their presentations, with Konstantinos taking his turn at the
microphone.

Here I am with the UK delegation (and to my left, the Norwegian) as the
meeting carried on.
The meetings have a reputation for running longer than planned, and
this one was no exception. It resumed after dinner, and the
farewell party which had been planned for the evening had to
be postponed till Sunday night.
