Tuesday 10th August

Today our project work was made interesting by the need to keep posing for a television crew from one of the German television stations (MDR I think) which was reporting on the Summer School.
At the end of the day, heading back up to the Böglerhoff
After dinner, we visit the Congress Centre Alpbach
for a public lecture by Martin Huber of ESA/ESTEC (on the right, next to Johannes) entitled "Sonnenfinsternisse: Ihre Bedeutung heute-früher" (yes, it was in German - but we had been thoughtfully provided with translations..)
Johannes introduces our speaker
Jens and Rosa in the audience
The talk gets under way
with plenty of spectacular images of solar eclipses to keep those of us who do not speak German amused.
then we file out of the building
and back to the school house to continue with our project work.
