16th August - Arrival

Expedition members arrive throughout the day on Friday 16th. We are allocated our accomodation and begin to learn to find our way around.

The black areas are part of OGC. I arrive on the train with Rob and Brian, so we are billeted together in the building at the fork in the road on the right.

17th August - Orientation begins

The expedition begins with a seminar presented by the expedition leaders at the Ristorante Bottaccione. This was followed by a tour of the facilities at the Osservatorio Geologico di Coldigioco, which was to be our new home for the next two weeks, and the geological sites that we would be investigating.
