17th August - Orientation 2

After our morning lectures, we headed out to see the K/T boundry at the Mount San Vicino outcrop, north of Frontale.
Still hiking up the road along the Mount San Vicino outcrop.
Looking back gave a spectacular view of the countryside.
On the way back down, we travelled up a rocky incline to get a closer look.
The incline got steadily steeper as we approached the base of the layered strata.
With Al in the lead, we approached our goal.
Larry braves the last sheer climb to the rock face,
With Adriana not far behind..
Closely followed by Lucille, with Jaime in the background, getting ready to demonstrate some novel rock climbing techniques.
Italy by night - a not so successful attempt to record, using available light, our expedition into Moscosi that evening after dinner, in search of Gellato.
