24 August - Monte Conero/Massignano day 2

Today we finish our work at Monte Conero and Massignano, and head into Ancona to investigate the Mediteranean beaches. The stratigraphy team was due to meet as at Ancona, but couldn't bear to leave their Massignano, and didn't arrive till the rest of us were leaving.

Bill Smythe, who joined us today (after a concerted battle with Italian customs), at lunch at Monte Conero. The stratigraphers arrived late and were not impressed to dicover they had only been left the scraps.

And then on to Ancona for a well deserved break.
