Saturday/Sunday - Travel to Pescara

Travelling to Pescara by air would have involved getting to the airport in the wee hours of Sunday morning to fly to Rome and then getting to the bus station in time to connect with the bus from Rome to Pescara. Not being keen on early mornings, or error prone connections, I decided on a leasurely trip by rail.

10th May - The Journey begins..

Waterloo station in London.

	from which the Eurostar departs..

for the trip under the channel.

	On arrival in Paris Gare du Nord on on Saturday evening, I meet with Bernard Lheur of Europe 1, who drives me to Gare du Lyon for the overnight train to Bologne, and joins me for dinner before departure.

Then back to the station

	and at 20:09 it is time to depart Paris Lyon..

Sunday 11th May - Awakening in Italy

My couchette is shared with an Italian girl travelling home to Firenze..

	and a Canadian girl travelling around Europe before starting her MBA course.

In Bologna I catch the 9:46 train to Pescara

	And finally.... Arival in Pescara at 13:54

And after a substantial walk, catch sight of of the Lido delle Sirene, my home for the next week.
