Exploring and Snake Charming
Friday Jul 16th
After getting up just after midday, it was soon time to venture
out and start exploring the village again.
In the mid afternoon we ventured outside and went for a walk
to explore the vicinity of Natasha's house, and at 15:39 Lena
stopped at a shop to sample some of the local produce.
At 16:09 we were at the bay which was at the end of the
bay at Natasha's end of the village (near where we had
stopped for fuel the previous day). An old lady had emerged
from this house to investigate the strangers in her back yard,
and Lena managed to get us invited in.

Natasha then took us on the bus back the other end of town
to do some more shopping. This picture was taken at 20:18 as
we walked back toward the last bus stop near the bridge
in the distance. The route home is across the bridge and
then a right turn, heading in the direction you are looking.
Looking back in the other direction, Lena and Natasha carrying
the shopping (and my umbrella, as it had been raining).
Our shopping consisted of a large bag of fish (fish being
rather plentiful in this village) and a bottle of tadpoles.
The fish were for us and spoiled koshka. The need for the tadpoles,
which were retrieved from a local pond, was to become clear soon.

Natasha and I on the track leading to the bus stop at 20:24,
just before catching our bus.
We arrived home around 21:00, and Natasha immediately produced
a large jar cotaining the snake that we were to feed with the
tadpoles, and deposited the snake into a large tub on the table.
At 21:24:28 Lena bravely picks up the little snake (which Natasha
explained was given to her son in law, and that the did not know
if it was venemous or not).
but her bravery was short lived, and at 21:24:56 the little
snake was unceremoniously deposited back into the tub...
