After our earlier fishing trip, where we were taken out by someone else, we decided that we really wanted a bit more independence. We wanted to explore the bay in our own boat, to be free to land where and when we wanted.
With that in mind, made an extreme effort and managed to get up early enough to make it to the bay by noon. Natasha had equipped us with a bottle of vodka and sent us out with instructions to find a drunk fisherman who would exchange it for use of his boat for the day.
However our initial search for an alcoholic fisherman failed, so we decided to call by Natasha's brother's house.
| At 12:57 we were on the water, and Lena had leapt onto the oars. |
|
| We obviously weren't going fast enough, so Lena changed into something with less wind resistance. |
| looking very professional now.. |
| though our friend still doesn't seem to be struggling too much to keep up with us.. |
|
| ramming speed... |
| Around 14:13 I eventually managed to wrestle the oars out of Lena's hands so that I could have a try at rowing... |
|
| I then had a chance to demonstrate my precision rowing skills after Lena managed to throw our bailing bucket overboard, and we had to chase it around the bay for a while. |
| If this location looks familiar, it is because we managed to locate our beach camp site from our hike on Tuesday, and set up camp there again. By 16:38 we were just finishing our meal. |
|
| Then at 17:19, time to do the washing up. |
| Then at 18:17 it was time to cast off and start making our way back to our starting point. |
|
| At 20:16, I was sitting on the bow of the boat, with Lena back on the oars behind me. |
