New Years Eve
Friday December 31st.
| at 12:23 we are awake and have our first view of the house in the daylight. |

| At 15:21 it was time to head into the forest in search of our "Yolka", (Christmas tree). |
| Of course Lena grabbed the axe and couldn't resist striking some Amazon Woman poses. |

| At 15:47 Lena is on the loose in the forest with an axe. |
|
| And we soon have our Christmas tree. |
|
The tree is now to be decorated according to the Russian
tradition, which involves confectionary (konfeti in Russian)
threaded with cotton, as well as the familiar Christmas balls
and tinsel.
At 19:45 the tree is in place, and Masha and Sasha are preparing the konfeti |

Unfortunately I neglected to take a picture a short time after this, when
the tree toppled over and deposited all the decorations onto the bed...
Our second attempt was a bit more successful and lasted till the end of our stay. |

At 22:26 the preparations are complete, and we sit down for our new year
celebration.
