Last Day in the Seaside House

Monday January 3rd

imgp2443.jpg At 10:43 on Monday morning, our last day in the cabin. Sasha had gone into the village to buy our train tickets for a day trip to Murmansk the next morning, and Lena and I were getting ready to try and get in a little skiing, and I think Masha was still in bed.

While Lena was busy waxing her skis, one of our neighbors called in to see how we were going and to have a chat.

After we had finished skiing, Lena went out looking for Sasha who had not returned when expected, and Masha and I stayed to work on dinner. Masha was just about to go out on a second search party when the others finally returned. It turned out that Sasha had just called in to see Natasha and had spent quite a long time there.

After dinner we packed up and vacated our New Year's cabin, and made our way back to Natasha's house.

Here, at 19:48, Masha and Sasha are walking down the road from our cabin toward the bus stop.

Sasha and I on the bus to Natasha's at 20:24, surrounded by all of our packs and skis.

There wouldn't be much chance to rest at Natasha's, however, as we would have to immediately pack our bags for our early morning departure for Murmansk at about 2:30am.

The train to Murmansk, like most of the trains we caught, left Zelenaborsky at a particularly unsociable time. At 2:56am we were on the platform waiting for our train.

Masha had all of her belongings with her, as she would have to leave us after our day in Murmansk and travel directly back to Moscow.
