| And this one shows how the radiation dose decreases with increased shielding. |

| Thursday was to be our last day of lectures held at the MSU faculty of medicine, so he we are at 10:03am entering the building for lectures for the last time. |
| The lectures start with a presentation on 'Space Station Implementation: from Mir to ISS' by I. Sorokin. |
|
|
At 11:45 we had a break for a birthday celebration for Letitia.
As nobody had thought to bring a knife, this is a demonstration of Malaysian ingenuity using some form of identity or credit card. |
| The days lectures finish with a talk on 'medical support of extravehicular activities', including considerations in suit design.. |
|
| and also the cuases, effects and prevention of decompression sickness. |
| According to my program, this was a lecture on 'Medical problems of interplanetary missions'. |
| some interesting information on estimating radiation hazards.. |

I seem to have neglected to take photographs documenting our evening
activities over the last three days, but we dined at this resturant on
one of the evenings.
I am also pretty sure we dined at Pivnaya 01 again on one of the others. Can't remember which evening was which, or what we did on the remaining evening. Perhaps someone who took some pictures of these events would care to donate one or two so I can fill in the gaps?? |

I do recall venturing out rather late one evening in search of a club
that was recommended in Ulf's guide book. According to my metro ticket,
we headed out at 23:04 on Friday.
The club listed in the guidebook turned out to be no longer there, but in its place was the intriguingly named 'crazymilk'. Intriging in so much as, as far as I could see, they didn't seem to serve much milk. We were out late enough to miss the last Metro home, so had to resort to catching a cab. We had a bit of an adventure on the way when Greg insisted we pull over on the way back so that he could buy some drinks to take back. While we were waiting for him a policeman turned up and bade us all get out of the cab so that he could check our documentation. This required a bit of fast talking by Natacha (our one Russian speaker) as Marisa had left her passport back at the university. She evidently succeeded in convincing him that we were students and not rich tourists, as we were allowed to go without any monetary penalty. |
