Field Trip Day 2 - Aci Castello
|
Our last stop is the Aci Castello promontory, which contains a
thick sequence of pillow basalts deposited in shallow water
and a horizontal fossil surface representing a terrace cut
into the pillow lava.
|
|
Inge, being an Aeronautical Engineer, got excited about this
helicopter that flew by while we were approaching the prominentory.
Not wanting to be left out, I thought I had better photograph it
too.

heading for the workshop venue to check into our hotels
and prepare for the welcome cocktail party.
