Sunday 10th October

Sunday begins with a visit to The Golden Age of Flemish Painting at The Museum of Fine Arts on Volkhonka Street.

Striding purposefully along the streets of Moscow, it looks like Emily is in the lead at this point.
After getting several conflicting suggestions from people we had asked for directions, Jim and Yulya pick a likely looking street to explore
Though the route was not as direct as we had intended, we arrive at Pushkin Museum.
and stop for some photographs of this unexpected event.
In the foyer at the entrance to the Museum.
Jim Head and Anne Cote wait for the rest of us to get our tickets.
Yulya and Nicole in the Museum.
Then we make our way down the grand stair case to make our exit from the Museum.

The second cultural event of the day was a concert at the
Conservatory Grand Hall in Bolshaya Nikitskaya St.

Where the Moscow State Academy Philharmonica performs F. Chopin's Sonata for piano, Sonata for piano & violoncello, 4 scherzo
The concert includes the Chopin work which has achieved fame as the funeral march - which was almost eerily prophetic for Paul and I.
A last look at the Conservatory.
Then back on the Metro for our trip home.
This could have been the last picture of Paul..
