Monday - first day of the symposium

My first sight of Moscow State University late on Sunday evening.
On Monday morning, the view from my room at the University.
And looking down at the courtyard below.
I meet Thomas (from the Berlin Symposium) and David (from the Pescara short course) waiting in the foyer for Sasha to guide us to the Institute.
Sasha arrives and rounds up the group
And leads us through the main building..
And out through the main entrance of the University..
A view looking back at the University..
And on the way takes us past a vantage point offering a good view of central Moscow.
Where he tells us that this might be the only time we get out during daylight hours to see it..
Then on to the institue. On the right is Augustine, who occupies the neighbouring room to mine.
Still heading toward the Institute..
And finally we arrive at the Vernadsky Institute.
And there is the plaque on the wall to prove it..
